Full Description
December 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A World War Two training camp is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S5), on land to the west of Croxton Road, Thetford. The site includes several nissen huts for military accommodation centred on TL 8721 8412, and at least one slit or practice trench, at TL 8702 8406.
It may be related to the training site NHER 54509, situated approximately 900m to the north, and could be the location of the army camp recorded as NHER 24572.
The site remains in use as a Territorial army centre (S5) until the modern day.
