Map

December 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A probable type 22 World War Two pillbox is visible on aerial photographs (S1) between St Mary’s priory and the Little Ouse River, Thetford. It is centred on TL 8667 8319. It is situated in the southeast corner of an area of possible military activity to the west of the Iron works, although it is difficult to be certain of the nature of this activity from the available aerial photographs. Further possible activity is visible in a hedge line approximately 139m to the west at TL 8655 8326 (Roger J. C Thomas, pers comm.) although it is unclear from the photographs whether this is military in nature.
