Summary

Metal-detecting at this location in 2010 and 2024 recovered a Neolithic Cornish greenstone axehead; a Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age flint scraper; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a Roman tegula fragment; undatable copper alloy casting waste; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons; a post-medieval token and a number of other, undated and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds included undated studs; Roman brooches; an Early Saxon brooch; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval and post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval rotary key, iron horseshoe, lead weights and lead pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval purse bar fragment, copper alloy ring and copper alloy vessel fragment and a post-medieval clapper bell, sword scabbard chap, copper alloy unidentified object, lead powder measure cap, writing lead and lead window came.
