Map

January 2011. Norfolk NMP.
A possible linear earthwork of a road or track is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1-S2) on land within Snarehill airfield, Brettenham. The linear bank runs north-south from TL 9014 8248 to TL 9014 8175, and measures approximately 5.5m in width.
It is possible that this feature represents an undated linear bank or trackway, or even part of a Roman road, running across the former heath, but it is only visible on two photographic sources, and as these are both relatively late in date (1975 and later) it is possible that the feature represents a pipeline, and is not archaeological in origin.
E. Bales (NMP), 11 Jan 2011.
