A probable World War Two weapons pit or spigot mortar emplacement is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (S1), on land to the east of The Street, Croxton.
The pit, or possible crater, measuring up to 7m in diameter, is centred on TL 8790 8581, with an upcast bank of soil surrounding it, measuring up to 20m in diameter. It may also be a bomb crater.
