Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 2008 and 2013 recovered ?Late Mesolithic, Early Neolithic, ?Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age and undatable prehistoric worked flints; Roman, ?Early Saxon, Middle Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Romano-British, medieval and post-medieval building material; a dispersed medieval coin hoard and medieval/post-medieval to post-medieval and undated metal objects. The metal finds include medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and a handle from a skillet; a post-medieval purse bar and undatable iron slag and metalworking debris.

1 undatable prehistoric flake core, 1 blade core fragment, 1 core fragment, 3 core preparation fragments, 2 ?cores, 1 blade, 1 blade-like flake, 85 flakes and flake fragments, 1 anomalous flake (white patina and spotty iron staining), 1 end scraper, 1 concave scraper, 9 miscellaneous retouched flakes, 5 shatter pieces and 1 shattered trial piece.
2 ?Late Mesolithic flint microblades and 1 microblade core.
1 Early Neolithic flaked axehead.
1 ?Neolithic flint ?Levallois-type core.
22 Roman pottery sherds (greyware).
1 Early/Middle Saxon pottery sherd (handmade, dark reduced, organic tempered).
1 Middle Saxon pottery sherd (pimply Ipswich).
33 medieval pottery sherds (16 glazed Grimston and 17 unglazed).
81 post-medieval pottery sherds (62 Glazed Red Earthenware, 18 stoneware and 1 fine unglazed red earthenware - possibly local copy of Martincamp product).

26 post-medieval pottery sherds (1 with external copper glaze (?Surrey), 22 Glazed Red Earthenware, 1 Metropolitan slipware, 1 Staffordshire combed slipware and 1 iron-glazed red earthenware) and 1 purse bar.
