Full Description
Blacksmith and wheelwright of Old Catton. Part of the estate of Old Catton Hall. Date stone reads '1858'. Forges used wood and coal and the building was lit in 2 rooms with gas lights from the mains supply. See detailed plans, itinerary, drawings and in NIAS files. Site marked as "Smithy" on 1st edition ordnance survey map (S2).
