NIAS records:
Established by Edward Hines in 1820, they made ornamental lathes. In the early 1900s they moved from ornamental works to producing conveyor belt systems for many Norwich shoe making firms. During the Second World War, they made precision engineered parts for submarines and ships.
Although the company was bought out several times the name Edward Hines continued to be used.
The site was still standing in 1975 when it was surveyed by NIAS.
