Full Description
Built from clay lump in 1865, this foundry was owned by 2 successive businessmen until its closure in 1953. Both owners ran the place as an agricultural engineers shop and foundry. After 1953 the building was used for storage until it was demolished in the late 1990s for a housing development. The site was powered by steam and then by an oil engine.
The site is listed in White's (S1) and Kelly's directories (S2) in 1883 and 1896 respectively.
See (S3).
The building is now demolished and a modern house has been erected on the same site.
