Summary

In November 2010 an archaeological evaluation revealed two substantial pits and a ditch of probable medieval date. Finds from the site included medieval Grimston ware pottery, late medieval Fenland type brick, a small assemblage of animal bone and a post-medieval clay pipe stem.

Evaluation of proposed development site.
The single trench excavated revealed two substantial pits, possibly used for refuse disposal, and a ditch both of probable medieval date. Finds from the site included medieval Grimston ware pottery, late medieval Fenland type brick and a small assemblage of animal bone. A post-medieval clay pipe stem was also recovered from the subsoil.
