Full Description
November 2010. Trial Trench.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The single trench excavated revealed two substantial pits, possibly used for refuse disposal, and a ditch both of probable medieval date. Finds from the site included medieval Grimston ware pottery, late medieval Fenland type brick and a small assemblage of animal bone. A post-medieval clay pipe stem was also recovered from the subsoil.
See report (S1) for further details.
