Map

April 2011. Norfolk NMP.
A possible World War Two slit or practice trench is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3) at the southern end of Swardeston Common, Swardeston. It is visible as a cropmark, centred on TG 1997 0286, and has been identified as a possible World War Two practice trench by its geometric shape, although it is possible that this feature represents a post medieval drainage feature. A ditch is also visible to the north, which may be related, and is visible within an area of earthwork hollows and tracks across the common, which have not been mapped but may have medieval to post medieval origins.
E. Bales (NMP), 15 April 2011.
