Map

April 2011. Norfolk NMP.
An earthwork of an undated ditch, a possible post medieval drainage feature, is visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the east of Hethersett Road, Ketteringham. It is situated to the east of a former gravel pit (S2), and appears to feed into a former field boundary from TG 1751 0307 to TG 1753 0302, to the north of an existing drain. It is therefore possible that it relates to a former drainage feature.
It should also be noted that to the west of this feature, heaps of material are visible beside the Hethersett Road (S3). It looks like this is road repair material, and has therefore not been mapped, but it is possible that this could relate to World War Two dispersed storage, which is why it has been mentioned here.
E. Bales (NMP), 26 April 2011.
