The site of a possible post medieval duck decoy is shown on historic maps. A rectangular area is shown on the 1818 Besthorpe enclosure map (S1) as 'Decoy' in the ownership of Earl Winterton. The first edition six inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map shows the area as 'Decoy Wood' (S2).
