The school originally comprised one room school which was built in 1862. By 1883 the school had been enlarged and was attended by 70 children. The building is constructed from grey brick on the front three walls and clay lump with red brick on the outside and a pantile roof. The original ornate barge boards have been replaced with modern replicas of the original style. The school closed in 1936.
