NIAS records:
Originally the farm was part of the estate of Hellesdon Hall (NHER8102) which was demolished around 1890. The newer Hill House was constructed closer to the farm complex and remains today.
The farm buildings were built around 1822-4 and remained in use until the 1970s.
After the farm ceased operation, the site was taken over by a series of construction firms and used as a base. Hill House was used as offices and the farm buildings for storage. This stopped around the early 1990s and the site was left to crumble. When NIAS surveyed it in 1993 it was in a state of poor repair and most of the buildings have since been demolished. The large barn however is Grade II listed and is currently in use as a gardening shop.
There was also a blacksmith's shop on the site (now demolished) marked on the 1st ed. O.S. map as 'Smithy' (S1). From the early 1920s the smithy operated independantly from the farm and worked until the late 1970s.
