The earliest phase of the school was built in 1865 with enlargement in 1873 and 1891. The school is built in a function style from red brick in Flemish bond with stone coping on the tops of the gables and white brick corbels. It was scheduled for closure in 1950/1 but is still open as a voluntary controlled school.
