Full Description
August 1974. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description excerpt:
"Ancillary building to the naval arsenal by James Wyatt.1806. Now light engineering works. Red brick. Roof of Cumberland slate. One storey. Five by three bays. To south face is a central round-arched carriage entrance flanked either side by two 3/6 unhorned sashes with gauged skewback arches. Returns each have three 3/0 unhorned sashes. Dentil eaves cornice. Hipped roof. INTERIOR: plain."

Ordnance Survey document (S4) cited in (S3) suggests that in 1810 the building was in use as a smithy and a carpenter's shop, with an internal north-south internal dividing wall and a hearth in the centre of the smithy.
