The original National School was built in 1817 next to the Queens Head public house. The present school was built in 1860 and originally comprised two-rooms with attached school house. The school is constructed from brick in a Flemish bond. In 1939 additions were made of the rear of the building by Boardman. The school was scheduled for closure in 1950/1.
