Rapid Earthwork Identification Survey (Compartment 5056).
Large pit 70m in diameter, 10m deep with water in the bottom, probably a marl pit, of unknown date. The pit is not marked on the 1 inch 1st edition ordnance survey map (1824-1836) but does appear on the 6 inch 1st edition ordnance survey map (1879-1886).
