Summary

Metal-detecting in 2011 and 2013 recovered post-medieval pottery and medieval and post-medieval metal objects including medieval buckles, lead weight and a thimble; medieval/post-medieval buckle, fragment of purse frame, copper alloy vessel leg and a fragment of copper alloy cauldron and post-medieval jettons, buckles, belt mounts, spur fragment, hawking vervel and a lead cloth seal. The presence of much copper alloy scrap and slag in this field was also noted.

Full Description

August-September 2011. Metal-detecting.
Two post-medieval jettons and medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval metal objects including a post-medieval silver hawking vervel.
The post-medieval silver vervel was submitted as potential Treasure (Treasure case 2011 T715), declared Treasure at inquest on 11 May 2012 and subsequently acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2013.62).
