Summary

Metal-detecting in 2011 and 2016 recovered a Late Prehistoric flint flake; Late Saxon, Late Saxon/medieval, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a Late Saxon/medieval ceramic spindle whorl; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval jetton and a range of other, Middle Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Middle Bronze Age rapier fragment; a Middle Saxon brooch; a Middle/Late Saxon brooch; Late Saxon brooches, a buckle, strap end and ringed pin; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval harness mount, casket key and iron horseshoe; a probable medieval lead pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval pin, lead weights and a lead spindle whorl and post-medieval harness or strap mounts, spurs, lead cloth seals and a lead weight.

September-October 2011. Metal-detecting.
1 Late Prehistoric retouched flint flake.
Middle Bronze Age rapier fragment (S1).
1 Roman coin.
Middle Saxon ansate brooch.
Middle/Late Saxon cross-shaped brooch.
2 Late Saxon pottery sherds, a buckle (S1), strap end and rectangular plate brooch of Continental origin.
6 ?Late Saxon pottery sherds.
8 Late Saxon/medieval pottery sherds and a ceramic spindle whorl.
4 medieval coins, 1 jetton, 41 pottery sherds, buckles, a harness mount and iron horseshoe.
?Medieval lead probable pot mend.
1 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherd, a pin, lead weights and lead spindle whorl.
2 post-medieval coins, buckles, harness or strap mounts, a rowel spur and lead weight.
