Full Description
Single-storey thatched lodge, formerly part of the Whiteslea estate and the Hickling residence of Lord Desborough in the 1930s. There is a building marked on this site on (S1) which was either rebuilt or remodelled in the Edwardian era. According to (S2), in 1909, a large sitting room was added at a higher level. In 1931 concrete raft was inserted and the building raised up with more rooms and buildings added to the site. At similar time, a series of 4 long friezes were painted in the sitting room by bird artist Roland Green.
