Map

A complex of ditches, banks and hollow ways with a number of pits/ponds possibly originating from what was interconnected enclosures overlain later by trackways possibly providing access to ponds. An L-shaped lynchet in the south western corner appears to have been the result of ploughing at some stage in the past suggesting that Round Grove is likely to be secondary rather than primary woodland. The age of the features is uncertain but the enclosures probably represent a settlement or farm site probably of medieval date. To the south west undated cropmarks of an enclosure and field systems possibly of Iron Age date could suggest that the features in Round Grove might be of a similar date.
