Summary

Metal-detecting between 2011 and 2023 recovered an Early Neolithic flint laurel leaf; Middle Saxon, Late Saxon/medieval, medieval and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval and medieval/post-medieval coins and a range of other, Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include Roman brooches and a possible steelyard arm; a Late Saxon silver finger ring; a Late Saxon/medieval writing lead; medieval and post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval horse harness pendant and lead pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment, copper alloy ring and lead weight and a post-medieval book clasp, rowel spur side and lead weight.

The Late Saxon silver finger ring was submitted as potential Treasure (Treasure case 2011 T856) and subsequently acquired by the British Museum (2012,8050.1).
