Summary

Metal-detecting by Discovery Tours in 2009 and 2011 recovered medieval and post-medieval coins as well as Roman, Early Saxon and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch of Colchester derivative; a fragment of Early Saxon cruciform brooch; a medieval buckle, seal matrix and belt mounts; medieval/post-medieval hooked tag, vessel leg and sword or dagger pommel and post-medieval purse bar, lead weight and copper alloy vessel rim and repair patch.

16 August 2009. Metal-detecting. Discovery Tours, Field 11.
Five medieval and five post-medieval coins.
Roman brooch of Colchester derivative.
Fragment of Early Saxon cruciform brooch.
Medieval buckle plate and two belt mounts.
Medieval/post-medieval hooked tag, vessel leg, button, loop handle and sword or dagger pommel.
Post-medieval vessel rim and repair patch, suspension mount, belt mount, purse bar and lead weight.
Coins identified by A. Marsden (HES), metal objects by I. Riddler.
