Summary

One of 11 surviving milestones along the former Norwich to Cromer turnpike. This turnpike was created in 1794 and was disturnpiked in 1876.

A 19th Century milestone marking Norwich 18 miles and Cromer 4 miles, and also incorporating an OS benchmark. One of 11 surviving milestones along the former Norwich to Cromer turnpike. This turnpike was first created in 1794 and ran from St Augustine's Gate in Norwich to Aylsham, but was extended in 1811 to reach Cromer, before being disturnpiked in 1876.
