Full Description
One of 3 surviving milestones placed on the Aylsham to Saxthorpe sideroad of the Norwich to Cromer turnpike, marking Norwich 14 miles and Holt 9 miles.
These milestones date from just after the original creation of the turnpike, as it is likely that they are the remainder of the set created for the Turnpike by Mr John Ivory in 1796.
(S1) contains information about this and other milestones on this turnpike.
D. Holburn (HES), 9 January 2012.
