One of 7 milestones along the Norwich to Bungay road, which never became a turnpike. This stone marks Norwich 5 miles and Bungay 9 miles and probably dates from the 19th Century, but the actual date is unknown.

2012. Maintenance work by the Milestone Society.
One of 60 milestones restored to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, see publication (S2).
The milestone was removed and the lettering and numerals were re-cut. This marker was then cleaned and painted before being re-set in its original location.
