Full Description
One of 5 surviving milestones along the Norwich to Aylsham and Antingham road. This road "left Norwich up St. Clement's Hill, through Spixworth to Frettenham where it divided. The left-hand fork continued though Buxton, then along the present B1354 to Aylsham to join the Norwich, Aylsham and Cromer turnpike. The right-hand fork went north through Felmingham to Antingham where it met the North Walsham to Cromer road."
This milestone is tombstone shaped, with a gabled top, and the inscription "TO/NORWICH/3 MILES/-/BUXTON/5 MILES" in a recessed panel.
