An archaeological evaluation in February 2012 revealed no archaeological features. The only find to be recovered was a probable Neolithic or Early Bronze Age flint flake.

Evaluation of area of proposed heath land restoration.
The three trenches excavated revealed no archaeological features. The only find to be recovered was a probable Neolithic or Early Bronze Age flint flake.
