Summary

The school was built in around 1850. In July 2011 the school had recently closed and was for sale with permission to convert to a residential dwelling. In 2013, the building was recorded ahead of its conversion to residential use.

The school and associated teacher's house were built in around 1850. The building is constructed in a plain functional style from clay lump and brick with a reed thatched roof. As of July 2011 the school had recently closed and was for sale with permission to convert to a residential dwelling.

October 2013. Historic Building Recording.
The former school building was recorded in 2013 ahead of its conversion to residential use. The original building of clay lump sits on brick plinth walls. The roof is hipped and comprises 4 timber trusses with a half truss at each end. The original plan was of a T-shape (a rectangular plan with small outshut)with 2 smaller modern extensions. The original outshut housed a utility room and a tall chimney projects through the thatched roof here.
