Map

Original text by S. Howard (HES) 12 April 2012 was the description of West Walton School (NHER 57155).

December 2011. Norfolk Rural Schools Survey.
This National School dates from 1837. According to a datestone on the west front it was enlarged in 1874 and again in 1899. (S1) notes that the school was not mentioned by the Norfolk County Council Education Committee in 1947, perhaps suggesting that it had closed by then. However, (S1) goes on to report that the school actually closed in 1962 and became a church hall.
