Full Description
A post-medieval milestone, possibly 19th century, recorded by the Milestone Society. This is a small plaque embedded into the pavement, that originally recorded the mileage to Great Yarmouth Harbour Entrance. There used to be a series of these milestones, positioned every quarter of a mile, however, roadworks and resurfacing have obscured all but two of these.
The inscription reads: "2 3/4 /MILES".
See (NHER 57135) for the other surviving milestone of this series.
See (S1) for further information.
D. Holburn (HES), 25 April 2012.
