Full Description
September 2011. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of new dwelling.
This work revealed in situ medieval finds and archaeological deposits within the historic core of Old Buckenham. A sequence of well-preserved late medieval to post-medieval deposits was recorded across much of the site, including a small number of waste pits which pre-date a 15th to 16th century yard surface and culvert. Pottery and finds indicative of a relatively affluent late medieval to early post-medieval household were also recovered from the area.
See report (S1) for further details.
