Summary

A watching brief maintained during groundworks at this site between 2012 and 2013 recorded a single undated pit. Unstratified finds were limited to a prehistoric flint flake and a range of modern objects

July 2012-January 2013. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with remodelling of existing school complex.
Soil stripping for a new car park area to the south-east of the school buildings exposed a single pit. This elongated feature had a distinctive light orange brown fill but produced no finds.
No archaeologically significant features or deposits were identified during the works associated with the construction of a new north-east wing.
Unstratified finds were limited to a single flint flake of probable Neolithic or Bronze Age date and a range of modern objects.
