Full Description
June 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Earthwork banks and ditches possibly related to Old Buckenham Castle, but more likely relating to field division, are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S5) on land to the west of Old Buckenham Castle. The site is centred on TM 0699 9240, and whilst none of the earthworks are depicted on the tithe map (S6), it is possible that they relate to field division. It is also possible, however, that they performed other functions, and the central ditch certainly has the appearance of a possible trackway or hollow way.
E. Bales (NMP), 7th June 2012.
