Summary

An area of curvilinear earthworks is visible on aerial photographs to the west of Upgate Street, Carleton Rode. They have been recorded with a monument polygon around the general area, and not mapped individually, as their appearance is ephemeral and only clearly visible on one set of photographs. It is also likely that they relate to post medieval drainage, although it is possible that these earthworks represent land division and/or drainage from the medieval period, possibly relating to an area of tofts.

An area of curvilinear earthworks is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) to the west of Upgate Street, Carleton Rode. The site is centred on TM 0952 9223. They differ from those earthworks recorded in the vicinity, to the south (NHER 57341-3) as they are more ephemeral and curvilinear.
