Full Description
June 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Undated earthwork ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the east of Cake Street, Old Buckenham. They are centred on TM 0711 9058 and are likely to represent medieval to post medieval boundary ditches, and a possible trackway or hollow way, but are not depicted on the historic maps of the area (S2) and may potentially represent earlier boundaries. They may be related to the possible medieval to post medieval flax or linen manufacturing site (NHER 9225) recorded in the southern half of the area. Since they are only visible on one set of photographs they have been recorded with a note of caution.
E. Bales (NMP), 19th June 2012.
