Map

July 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the east of Low Barn Farm, Quidenham.
The site is centred on TM 0220 8750, and in close proximity to a possible Bronze Age ring ditch (NHER 57380). For this reason it is possible that they are Bronze Age in date.
The cropmarks of this site are slightly peculiar in that the ditches are showing as lighter marks against darker cropmarks which are caused by the patterned ground of underlying geology. This differential showing of the ditch material could be due to the fact that they were dug against the patterned ground geology which may mean they drain more quickly than the land around them.
E. Bales (NMP), 04 July 2012.
