Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between 2012 and 2025 recovered Late Mesolithic/Early Neolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Age worked flints; Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; undatable copper alloy casting waste; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins and a range of other, Middle Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Middle Iron Age brooch; a Roman finger ring and terret; a medieval strap end, brooch, harness pendant, harness mount, end cap from scale-tang knife, copper alloy zoomorphic ewer spout and lead alloy human male figurine; a possible medieval leash swivel; a medieval/post-medieval purse bar fragment, copper alloy vessel fragment and lead weight and a post-medieval button, crotal bell, rowel spur and hinge plate from casket.
