Full Description
April 2012. Trial Trench.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The singe trial trench excavated revealed a single, undated feature of uncertain type, along with medieval and post-medieval pottery and building material. The south-eastern part of the site, adjacent to Priory Road, may have been deliberately made-up in the post medieval or later periods through the dumping of material. A single ashlar block and brick of possible late medieval date may derive from the Priory to the south of the site.
See report (S1) for further details.
The archive associated with this work has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2012.128).
E. Bales (HES), 30 July 2012. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 16 May 2019.
