Summary

Five shallow ditches, two pits and a post hole were recorded by Oxford Archaeology East during an archaeological evaluation of land north of Hubbards Loke, Great Witchingham. No artefacts were recovered from these features. The lack of artefacts together with the site's location adjacent to the flood plain of the river Wensum suggest that the land may have been used as a meadow prioir to the Enclosure Act of 1809. The cropmarks identified on the site (NHER 50710) have been attributed to variations in the underlying geology.
