Summary

Fieldwalking in 1975-1976 recovered a number of prehistoric worked flints. The majority were thought to be Neolithic, the exception being three scrapers of probable Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age date. Metal-detecting in 2025 recovered a medieval/post-medieval finger ring.

Pre 1975. Stray Find.
This field is one of several in the Blakeney area that formed the lands of Church Farm in 1977. Prior to this date the farmer [1] had collected 38 Neolithic flaked and polished flint axeheads from these fields, although unfortunately the exact provenance of these objects was not recorded. See NHER 60094 and (S1) for further details.

1975-1976. Fieldwalking.
Fieldwalked by [2] as part of a larger survey of the lands of Church Farm, Wiveton.
Spring Marl (finder's Field 142):
18 worked flints including 1 side scraper and 1 broken blade/bladelet.
The bulk of the material collected was believed to be Neolithic.

Big Bilsey (finder's Field146):
81 worked flints, including 1 scraper on broken flake, 1 side-and-end scraper and 1 double-side scraper, 3 retouched flakes and 8 blades/bladelets.
The bulk of the material collected was believed to be Neolithic, although the scrapers were possible Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age.
