Full Description
August 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of undated linear and curvilinear ditches, possible medieval to post medieval field boundaries or drainage ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) to the south of the River Thet at Middle Harling. The site is centred on TL 9804 8580. Field boundaries visible on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map are also visible within this field, and these have not been mapped. It is possible that these linear and curvilinear ditches also represent field boundaries dating to the post medieval period, but since they do not appear on the available historic maps, and due to the fact that they are situated in close proximity to two possible Bronze Age ring ditches (NHER 6027 and 57418) they were considered worthy of recording.
E. Bales (NMP), 28 August 2012.
