Summary

The cropmarks of a group of undated fragmentary and multi-phase ditches and field boundaries, some of which are likely to be medieval to post medieval in date, are visible on aerial photographs. The majority of the boundaries are aligned the same as the medieval to post medieval fields in the area, as depicted on the 1828 Scottow Enclosure map and the 1839 Scottow Tithe map, and as such are likely to be medieval to post medieval in date also. Cropmarks of boundaries actually on these surveys were omitted from the mapping. Additional cropmarks within this field have been recorded under NHER 36731, as they appear to represent a possible extension of the co-axial field system recorded to the east.
