Full Description
August 2012. Norfolk NMP.
An undated possible sub-square enclosure is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (S1) on land to the south of Overa Heath, Quidenham. It is centred on TL 9879 8756 and measures 32m by 35m internally, approximately 37m by 38m externally.
It is visible within an area that appears to have many drainage ditches dug to drain the land into the River Thet, to the south-west. These drainage ditches have not been mapped. However this possible enclosure is different in morphology and has a more degraded appearance, and has been mapped due to its proximity o the medieval to post medieval earthworks to the north (NHER 57424) as well as the possible Bronze Age and Iron Age features (NHER 54940, 57426 and 57427).
E. Bales (NMP), 04 September 2012.
