Map

September 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of a World War Two gun emplacement or defence post are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) approximately 700m to the north of the emergency World War Two runway on Larling Heath (NHER 20241).
The site is centred on TL 9616 8937 and consists of an open ditch or pit approximately 2.5m in diameter, surrounded by a raised bank approximately 8.4m in total external diameter. The central pit would possibly have contained a concrete pin or gun emplacement, but this is not visible on the aerial photographs. The feature has been filled in by photographs taken in 1955 (S3).
