Summary

Archaeological evaluation of land to the south of St Peter's Church, Smallburgh, within the area of a proposed extension to the graveyard, revealed a shallow ditch that was considered likely to represent a medieval field boundary. Three sherds of medieval pottery, an undated square iron buckle frame and a fragment of undated lava were also recovered.

Evaluation of proposed graveyard extension. Contexts 1-5.
The single trench excavated revealed a shallow ditch that was considered likely to represent a medieval field boundary.
Three sherds of medieval pottery, an undated square iron buckle frame and a fragment of undated lava quern were also recovered.
