Full Description
February 2011. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of a small trench dug in order to repair a burst water main.
No archaeologically significant features or deposits were identified. The lowest deposit exposed by this work was a very mixed, root-disturbed make-up layer containing much flint, brick and mortar rubble and lumps of chalk. This deposit was overlain by a dark ‘garden soil’. No finds were recovered.
See report (S1) for further details.
