Map

November 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of an undated possible circular mound and fragmentary linear bank are visible as on aerial photographs (S1) on land to the east of Longmeadow Plantation, Shropham.
The circular mound is centred on TL 9987 9420 and measures approximately 13m in diameter. It could conceivably represent a Bronze Age burial mound or a medieval to post medieval windmill mound, although it may also represent recent agricultural activity.
The fragment of a possible banked enclosure is visible with its south-west corner at TL 9995 9418, and the bank measures 9m in width.
It is very difficult to be certain that these features are archaeological in origin, since they are only visible on one set of photographs, and they have therefore been recorded with a hint of caution.
E. Ford (NMP), 07 November 2012.
